Narrative Television Network (NTN) is a major producer of description for television programming, and the largest professional description organization to have a blind chief executive, Jim Stovall, a major pioneer and innovator in the description field.

Jim Stovall, Founder and President of Narrative Television Network (NTN), is an award-winning author, producer, and describer, and is one of the few blind professionals working in the Description field. His solid experience and deep roots in Description make him and NTN indispensible DLN partners. In addition to connecting the VDRDC to NTN’s unique community of description consumers, Mr. Stovall fills a vital organizational role as the Chairman of the Description Leadership Network. His incomparable knowledge of the field and its players provides a personal connection between the DLN and many of the most important stakeholders in video education and entertainment.

Jim Stovall will assist the VDRDC through a variety of consultative, outreach, and training activities. His guidance and good counsel will be an invaluable resource to the other Partners in the DLN and to the Principal Investigator due to his unparalleled experience and expertise in the field of audio description and entertainment. Since 1988, Mr. Stovall has devoted his full time to the building of Narrative Television Network (NTN) and its promotion across the country. For a number of years, Mr. Stovall hosted a regular talk show on NTN where he interviewed celebrities from the film and television industry, including Katharine Hepburn, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Helen Hayes, Jack Lemmon and many of Hollywood's best-known stars. In 1993, Stovall and the script-writing staff at NTN received The Golden Georgi Award, the top honor in script and screen writing from The Writers Foundation of America.
